Composition
Cap 1 gm: Omega-3 acid ethyl esters (comprising eicosapentaenoic acid 46%, docosahexaenoic acid 38%) 1 gm.
Indications & Dosage
Adjunct to diet and statin in type IIb or III hypertriglyceridaemia, Adjunct to diet in type IV hypertriglyceridaemia: Adult: Initially 2 capsules daily, dose to be taken with food, increased if necessary to 4 capsules daily. Adjunct in secondary prevention in those who have had amyocardial infarction in the preceding 3 months: Adult: 1 capsule daily, dose to be taken with food. Children: Not recommended.
Precautions
Bleeding disorders, exogenous and secondary endogenous hypertriglyceridaemia (uncontrolled diabetes), hepatic impairment
Interactions
Anticoagulants.
Pregnancy
Risk cannot be ruled out.

Dyspepsia, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, gastritis, taste disturbances, acne, headache, hepatic disorders, hyperglycaemia, rash
