Composition
Susp 500 mg/750 mg: Per bottle: Secnidazole 500 mg/750 mg; granules for suspension. Tab 500 mg/1 gm: Secnidazole 500 mg/1 gm.
Indications & Dosage
Amoebic dysentery: Adults: 2000 mg as a single dose. Children: 30 mg/kg body-weight. as a single dose. Hepatic amoebiasis: Adults: 1500 mg daily in one or more doses for 5 days. Children: 30 mg/kg body-weight.daily in one or more doses for 5 days. Trichomoniasis: Adults: 2000 mg as a single dose. Sexual partner should be given same dose.
Precautions
Hepatic or renal impairment, history of blood disorder, alcohol during treatment.
Interactions
Disulfiram, alcohol.
