Composition
Tab 2 mg/6 mg: Tegaserod 2 mg/6 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Constipation, Irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain and discomfort: Adults: 6 mg twice daily prior to a meal for 12 wk. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to tegaserod.
Precautions
Severe hepatic impairment, pregnancy and in patients with lactose intolerance.
Pregnancy
Caution advised.
Lactation
Contraindicated or not recommended.
Side Effects
Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, headaches, dizziness, back pain and influenza-like symptoms.
