Composition
Tab 1 mg: Isopropamide iodide 5 mg, trifluopera zine 1 mg. Tab 2 mg: Isopropamide iodide 5 mg, trifluoperazine 2 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Peptic ulcer and GI disorders (complicated by nervous or emotional factors): Adults: 1 mg or 2 mg every 12 hr. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Myasthenia gravis (but may be used to decrease muscarinic side-effects of anticholinesterases), paralytic ileus, toxic megacolon pyloric stenosis, and prostatic enlargement, coma, stupor, iodine hypersensitivity to iodine and/or other contents of the drug.
Precautions
Downs syndrome, elderly, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, diarrhoea, ulcerative colitis, autonomic neuropathy, acute myocardial infarction, hypertension, conditions characterized by tachycardia (including hyperthyroidism, cardiac insufficiency, cardiac surgery), pyrexia, and in individuals susceptible to angle-closure glaucoma.
Interactions
Amantadine, digoxin, phenothiazines, atenolol, tricyclic antidepressants.

Side Effects
Constipation, transient bradycardia (followed by tachycardia, palpitation and arrhythmias), reduced bronchial secretions, urinary urgency and retention, dilatation of the pupils with loss of accommodation, photo-phobia, dry mouth, flushing and dryness of the skin, vomiting, nausea, and giddiness. Rare: Angle-closure glaucoma may occur.
