Composition
MR Tab: Tamsulosin HCl 0.4 mg and Solifenacin Succinate 6mg
Indications & Dosage
Symptomatic Urinary frequency, Urinary urgency, Urinary incontinence, increased micturition frequency associated with benign pros-tatic hyperplasia (BPH): Adults: 1 tablet daily as a single dose.
Contraindications
Severe hepatic or renal impairment, hemodialysis, patient with severe GI condition including toxic megacolon, myasthenia gravis, narrow-angle glaucoma, orthostatic hypotention
Precautions
Selective alpha-blockers reduce blood pressure; patients receiving antihypertensive treatment may require reduced dosage and specialist supervision. Caution required in cataract surgery (risk of intra-operative floppy iris syndrome), elderly and in patients with hepatic impairment and renal impairment. Bladder outflow obstruction at risk of urinary retention, GI obstruction, risk of oesophagitis, reduced GI motility, severe renal or moderate hepatic impairment, autonomic neuropathy, hiatus hernia, oesophageal reflux, neurogenic bladder disorder, susceptibility to QT-interval prolongation.
Interactions
Other alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, calcium antagonists. Inhibitors, inducers or substrates of CYP3A4, cholinergic agonists, anticholinergics, GI motility stimulants
Side Effects
Angioedema, asthenia, blurred vision, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, erectile disorders, GI disturbances, headache, hypersensitivity reactions, hypotension (notably postural hypotension), intra-operative floppy iris syndrome, oedema, palpitations, priapism, pruritus, rash, rhinitis, syncope, tachycardia. Gastro-oesophageal reflux, dysphonia, hepatic impairment, hyperkalaemia, muscle weakness, reduced appetite, torsade de pointes.
