Tab 25 mg/100 mg/150 mg: Erlotinib as HCI 25 mg/100 mg/150 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer second-line treatment or monotherapy after four cycles of platinum-based chemotherapy for maintenance: Adult: 150 mg once daily Treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer (in combination): Adult: 100 mg once daily.
Precautions
Monitor liver function; patients with any hepatic impairment; should be closely monitored, including those with hepatic disease due to tumour burden. Use with caution in patients with or at risk for renal impairment. Monitor closely for dehydration, monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients at risk for dehydration, risk of corneal perforation and ulceration; interrupt or discontinue treatment in patients presenting with eye-pain or other acute or worsening ocular symptoms.
Interactions
Conivaptan; proton pump inhibitors (avoid), vitamin K antagonists, antifungal agents, ciprofloxacin, CY-P3A4 inhibitors or inducers, dasatinib, fluvoxamine, ivacaftor, mifepristone, cardiac glycosides. deferasirox, rifampin, tocilizumab.
Pregnancy
Positive evidence of risk: Avoid
Lactation
Contraindicated. Discontinue breast-feeding.
Side Effects
Abdominal pain, anorexia, conjunctivitis, depression, diarrhoea, dry skin, dyspepsia, fatigue, flatulence, headache, neuropathy, pruritus, rigor, GI perforation, interstitial lung disease (discontinue). Rare Hepatic failure, alopecia, bone-marrow suppression, hyperuricaemia, nausea, oral mucositis, thromboembolism, tumourlysis syndrome, vomiting
