TIMOPROST
LATANOPROST AND TIMOLOL MALEATE · by VEGA
Composition
Eye Drop: Latanoprost 0.005%, timolol maleate 0.5%; 2.5 ml drops.
Indications & Dosage
Raised intra-ocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension when beta-blocker or prostaglandin analogue alone not adequate: Adults: 1 drop in affected eye(s) once daily, prefer-ably in the evening.
Contraindications
severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma or history of asthma, sinus bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, uncompensated cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock.
Precautions
Renal and hepatic impairment, diabetes, thyrotoxicosis, inflammatory, neovascular, angle closure or congenital glaucoma, pigmentary glaucoma, open angle glaucoma in pseudophakia patients, risk factors or cystoids macular oedema, aphakia, pseudophakia in patients with torn posterior lens capsule or an-terior chamber lenses.
Interactions
Hypertensives, calcium antagonists, antiarrhythmics, cardiac glycosides, Parasympathomimetic, additive effects with other glaucoma treatments. Leave interval of at least 5 min with other topical eye preps.

Side Effects
Ocular irritation, headache, bitter taste, blurred vision, conjunctivitis, eyelid inflammation, darkening of mixed coloured irides; inform patient, darker, longer or thicker lashes, conjunctival hyperaemia, foreign body sensation, transient punctate epithelial erosion, periorbital oedema. Rare: Macular oedema, iritis, uveitis, darkening of palpebral skin, exacerbation of asthma, dyspnoea.
