Composition
Inj: Iron III Isomaltoside 100 mg/ml
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis & treatment of iron deficiency anaemia: BY SLOW IV INJ OR INF: Adults: Calculated according tobody-weight and iron deficit, consult product literature.
Contraindications
History of allergic disorders including asthma and eczema, active rheumatoid arthritis.
Precautions
Avoid in liver disease and hepatitis. Hypersensitivity can occur with parenteral iron and facilities for cardiopulmonary resuscitation must be available. Risk of allergic reaction can increased in immune and inflammatory conditions; oral iron therapy should not be given until 5 days after last injection; infection (discontinue if ongoing bacteraemia), pregnancy, lactation.
Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, dyspnoea, dysphonia, flushing, numbness, fever, cramps, blurred vision, pruritus, rash, hypersensitivity reactions, (including anaphylaxis), angioedema, tachycardia, arrhythmias, hypotension, chest pain, malaise, seizures, tremor, dizziness, restlessness, loss of consciousness, altered mental status, myalgia, arthralgia, sweating, hypertension, foetal bradycardia, palpitation, headache, paraesthesia, haemolysis, transient deafness.
