Composition
Cream: Per gm: Diflucortolone valerate 1 mg, isoconazole nitrate 10 mg, cream in low fat base.
Indications & Dosage
Severe inflammatory skin disorders such as eczemas, Psoriasis, Inflammatory dermatoses with fungal infection: Adults & Children: Local applications twice daily as long as inflammatory conditions are present; max two weeks. Treatment must be terminated after the regression of the concomitant inflammation.
Contraindications
Acne, perioral dermatitis, potent corticosteroids in widespread plaque psoriasis, rosacea, untreated viral skin lesions
Precautions
Avoid prolonged use, keep away from eyes, under specialist supervision in psoriasis (can result in rebound relapse, development of generalized pustular psoriasis, and local and systemic toxicity). Do not use steroid as sole therapy in psoriasis. Do not use steroids to treat diaper dermatoses in infants. If local irritation develops discontinue use.
Side Effects
Burning, itching, irritation, erythema, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, pruritus, acneiform eruptions, hypo-pigmentation, peri-oral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, thinning of the skin (the original structure may never return), worsening of acne and rosacea, skin atrophy, striae, malaria, telangiectasia. Rare: Adrenal suppression, Cushings syndrome
