Composition
lnj 2 g/0.5 mg: Each vial contains Ceftazidime (as pentahydrate) equivalent to 2 g and Avibactam (as sodium salt) equivalent to 0.5 g. powder in vials.
Indications & Dosage
Complicated intra-abdominal infection: BY IV INF: Adult: 2/0.5 g every 8 hours for 5-14 days. Complicated urinary tract infection, including Pyelonephritis: BY IV INF: Adult: 2/0.5 g every 8 hours for 5-10 days. Hospital-acquired pneumonia, including ventilator associated Pneumonia: BY IV INF: Adult: 2/0.5 g every 8 hours for 7-14 days. Infections due to Gram-negative bacteria with limited treatment options: BY IV INF: Adult: 2/0.5 g every 8 hours, duration of treatment guided by infection severity, pathogen, and response.
Administration
Vials with powder should be reconstituted with 10 ml of sterile water for injections, followed by shaking until the content dissolves. An infusion bag containing any of the following solution for injection: NaCl 9 mg/ml (0.9%), dextrose 50 mg/ml (5%), NaCl 4.5 mg/ml and dextrose 25 mg/ml (0.45% NaCl and 2.5% dextrose) or Lactated Ringer-s solution. A 100 ml infusion bag can be used to prepare the infusion. Use within 30 minutes of preparation. Each vial is for single use only, unused product should be disposed of.
Stability
It should be administered within 12 hours of preparation. The chemical and physical in-use stability has been demonstrated for up to 24 hours at 2-8-C. Once removed from refrigeration the diluted product must be stored at room temperature and used within 12 hours.
Precautions
Hypersensitivity, moderate to severe impaired renal function (dose adjustment is required, close monitoring of estimated creatinine clearance is advised)

Aminoglycosides, loop diuretics.

Side Effects
Clostridioides difficile associated diarrhoea (discontinue therapy), antibiotic associated colitis, increased risk of infection, thrombocytosis, acute kidney injury, lymphocytosis, paraesthesia, altered taste, nephrotoxicity. Rare: tremor, encephalopathy, jaundice, myoclonus, neurological effects, seizures, coma.
