Composition

Susp: Per 5 ml: Aluminium hydroxide 215 mg, magnesium hydroxide 80 mg, simeticone 25 mg.

Indications & Dosage

Hyperacidity, distension, flatulence, heartburn, dyspepsia, hiatus hernia, peptic ulcer: Adults: 1-2 tsp between meals and at bed time. Children 5-12 yrs: half adult dose. Above 12 yr: same as adult dose.

Precautions

Patients on low phosphate diet, renal impairment, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach.

Interactions

May alter absorption of tetracyclines, Fe salts, H2-receptor antagonists, 251, warfarin, quinidine.

Side Effects

Diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, nausea, intestinal obstruction (large dose).
