Composition
Tab: Mefloquine NCI 50 mg, sulfadoxine 50 mg, pyrimethamine 25 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Therapy of plasmodium falciparum malaria resistant to other antimalarial agents: Adults: Non-immune patients: Single dose of 3 tab. Semi-immune patients: 60 kg or less body-weight: AZ Single dose of 2 tab, more than 60 kgbody-weight: single dose of 3 tablets. Children: Single dose of 1/2 to 2 tabs according to age.
Contraindications
Sulphonamide hypersensitivity.
Precautions
Impaired renal or hepatic function, porphyria, psoriasis,severe gastrointestinal, neurological or blood disorders, infants up to two months.
Interactions
Folate inhibitors.

Side Effects
Abdominal cramp, blood dyscrasias, GI distress, nausea, vomiting, weakness, diarrhoea, muscular cramp, malaise, irregular heartbeat, skin-pigmentation, hair loss, tinnitus, lumpus erythematosus, corneal opacities, retinal damage, blood disorders,headache, skin reactions and liver cell damage.
