Composition
Inj: Hepatitis A Vaccine; 0.5 ml (250 Units)/1.0ml (500 units), inactivated prefilled syringe
Indications & Dosage
Active immunization against hepatitis A: BY IM INJ: Adults: Primary immunization: 1.0 ml (500 units) in the deltoid region. Booster: 1.0 ml (500 units), 6 months following initial dose. Children: 12 months-18 yrs: Primary immunization: 0.5 ml (250 Units) in the deltoid region. Booster: 0.5 ml (250 Units), 6 months following initial dose.
Contraindications
Severely immunosuppressed patients should not be given live vaccines (including those with severe primary immunodeficiency), Severe febrile infections
Precautions
Acute or chronic diseases.
Side Effects
Fatigue, fever, GI disturbances, headache, irritability, loss of appetite, lymphangitis, malaise, myalgia, arthralgia, asthenia, dizziness, drowsiness, influenza-like symptoms, lymphadenopathy, paraesthesia, rash. Rare: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm, hypersensitivity reactions, urticaria
