Indications & Dosage
Treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma when treatment with interferon alfa or interleukin-2 has failed or is unsuitable, Treatment of progressive, locally advanced, or metastatic, differentiated thyroidcarcinoma that is refractory to radioactive iodine, Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma: Adult: 400 mg twice daily, for dose adjustments due toside effects, consult product literature. Children: Not recommended.
Precautions
Cardiac ischaemia, major surgical procedures, potential risk of bleeding; treat tracheal, bronchial, oroesophageal infiltration with localized therapy before initiating treatment, consider permanent withdrawal if patient requires medical intervention for bleeding, susceptibility to QT-interval prolongation, dermatological toxicities, hemorrhage, infarction, wound healing complications, GI perforation, hepatic impairment.
Interactions
Warfarin, irinotecan, docetaxel, rifampicin, phe-nytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarb, dexamethasone, St. Johns wort, doxorubicin.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Lactation
Contraindicated. Discontinue breast-feeding
