Composition
Susp: Per 5 ml: Aluminium hydroxide 215 mg, magnesium hydroxide 80 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Peptic ulcer, hiatus hernia, gastritis, dyspepsia, gastric hy peracidity and flatulence: Adults: 1 or 2 tsp. Children: Above 6 yr, 1 tsp to be taken one and three hr after meals and at bedtime.
Precautions
Renal dysfunction, patients on low phosphate diet, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach. Prolong use.
Interactions
Alters absorption of tetracycline, INH, Fe salts, warfarin, digoxin, H2 receptor antagonists, chlorpromazine, alkalisation of urine may increase plasma quinidine.
Side Effects
Constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, GI obstruction.
